One of the biggest problems with electric cars is that the technology just isn't there yet for it to be truly practical and cost effective. What about if in the near future you could drive to an "energy" station and recharge the exhausted batteries of your electrical car by pumping a semi solid electrically charged substance into the car while draining the discharged substance out.
To top it all off these batteries would cost a lot less and would not require much maintenance.Well, the smart folks at MIT apparently found a way to do this. Check it out: http://web.mit.edu/newsoffice/2011/flow-batteries-0606.html
